The Project

To meet the property’s high energy demand and offset rising utility costs, Solar4Good designed and installed a 24.65 kWp solar PV system. The goal of the project was to make the most of the roof space while ensuring long-term durability and efficiency in production. With the building’s flat roof orientation, the system was optimised for maximum sunlight capture and minimum disruption to the tenants.

The technical scope included:

  • 58 × Jinko 425W solar panels (24.65 kWp total capacity)
  • Solis 30kW 3-Phase Inverter
  • Roof Pitch: 10° (South facing)
  • Flat roof ballasted mounting system for structural safety

The Solution

Solar4Good handled everything from the first feasibility study and design to the installation and commissioning.

Key aspects included:

  • Optimised System Layout – Panels arranged in a way that makes the most of the roof space available for generation while taking shading into account.
  • High Efficiency Equipment – Tier 1 Jinko solar panels were paired with a Solis 3 phase inverter for long run performance reliability.
  • Future-Proofing – The system was constructed considering scalability in mind, so it can be upgraded with more storage if needed later.
  • Safety & Compliance – Installation fully compliant with UK building and electrical standards, ensuring safety and reliability.

The Result

The solar PV system now generates ~27,500 kWh annually, covering around 42% of the building’s total electricity needs.

Environmental Impact:

  • Average CO₂ savings: 13,800 kg/year (~13.8 tonnes)
  • Equivalent to planting 14,800 trees over the system’s lifetime
  • Lifetime CO₂ offset: ~345,000 kg

Financial Savings:

  • Lifetime savings: £125,000 – £135,000
  • Average savings: ~£5,000 per year
  • ROI / Payback period: 5–7 years

Client Benefits:

  • Stabilised energy costs the face of UK tariff volatility
  • Significant contribution towards Net Zero
  • Increased property value and resilience
  • Improved tenant satisfaction with greener energy supply
