CLIENT
Delamer House, a multi-residential property in Walton-on-the-Naze, sought a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution for reducing its dependency on grid electricity. The property owners were eager to future-proof their building by using renewable energy and showing their commitment to lowering carbon emissions, as people are becoming more aware of the environment and energy costs were going up.
The Project
To meet the property’s high energy demand and offset rising utility costs, Solar4Good designed and installed a 24.65 kWp solar PV system. The goal of the project was to make the most of the roof space while ensuring long-term durability and efficiency in production. With the building’s flat roof orientation, the system was optimised for maximum sunlight capture and minimum disruption to the tenants.
The technical scope included:
58 × Jinko 425W solar panels (24.65 kWp total capacity)
Solis 30kW 3-Phase Inverter
Roof Pitch: 10° (South facing)
Flat roof ballasted mounting system for structural safety
The Solution
Solar4Good handled everything from the first feasibility study and design to the installation and commissioning.
Key aspects included:
Optimised System Layout – Panels arranged in a way that makes the most of the roof space available for generation while taking shading into account.
High Efficiency Equipment – Tier 1 Jinko solar panels were paired with a Solis 3 phase inverter for long run performance reliability.
Future-Proofing – The system was constructed considering scalability in mind, so it can be upgraded with more storage if needed later.
Safety & Compliance – Installation fully compliant with UK building and electrical standards, ensuring safety and reliability.
The Result
The solar PV system now generates ~27,500 kWh annually, covering around 42% of the building’s total electricity needs.
