We are proud to have been featured across several of London’s most-read regional titles, including Your Local Guardian, London Now and the Times Series, following Solar4Good’s 2026 analysis of home solar generation across London’s boroughs, with Croydon emerging as the capital’s clear solar leader.
Our borough-by-borough study, drawn from Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) generation data, found that Croydon now generates more home solar power than any other London borough. It is a finding that challenges the idea that London is “not solar territory”, and it is exactly the kind of suburban, owner-occupied area where solar panel installation across London has quietly moved from novelty to mainstream.
The headline finding
Croydon led London with 13,359 MWh of annual home solar generation, ahead of Havering, Ealing, Hounslow and Bromley. Every borough in the top five sits on the edge of the capital, with outer London leading the way.
