RUBY Pub, Hotel & Dining is the kind of place that runs from the first coffee to the last order. Rooms upstairs, a kitchen going hard through every service, a bar and floor lit and heated for guests all day and half the night. All of that runs on electricity, and a lot of it. Their power bill had climbed until it was one of the biggest fixed costs the business carried. In hospitality that isn't a line item you shrug off. It's margin, straight off the top, before you've poured a single pint or turned a single room.

Energy is one of the biggest costs a pub and hotel carries, and it only ever seemed to go up. RUBY wanted that under control without cutting a single corner on the guest experience. The tricky part is the trade a lot of venues fear. You can't shut the kitchen, empty the rooms or close the bar for a fit-out. So the real question wasn't just "will solar save us money". It was "can it be sized to a site that's drawing power right through the day, and put in around a business that has to keep trading".
