CLIENT

A family home in Slough wanting solar, battery storage and home EV charging delivered as one integrated package.

The Project

With an electric vehicle in the household, the priority was self-consumption — using as much homegrown power as possible rather than exporting it cheaply. The Sigenergy platform let the panels, battery and EV charger work as a single managed system.

The technical scope included:

  • 20 × Aiko 510W solar panels (10.2 kWp total capacity)
  • SigenStor EC 10.0SP hybrid inverter
  • 2 × SigenStor BAT 10.0 (18 kWh usable storage)
  • Sigen HomeMax gateway + Sigenergy 7kW AC EV charger
The Solution

Solar4Good delivered the full Sigenergy ecosystem as a single, managed installation.

Key aspects included:

  • Integrated Platform – Panels, battery, gateway and EV charger run as one Sigenergy system.
  • Self-Consumption First – Configured to charge the home battery and the car before exporting.
  • High-Efficiency Panels – Premium Aiko 510W modules for maximum output per panel.
  • Safety & Compliance – Installed fully in line with UK building and electrical standards.
The Result

Daytime generation now charges both the home battery and the car, lifting self-consumption to around 68% — before counting the separate saving on petrol the EV charging replaces.

Environmental impact:

  • Average CO₂ savings: 2,040 kg/year
  • Equivalent to planting 2,100 trees over the system’s lifetime
  • Lifetime CO₂ offset: ~51,000 kg

Financial savings:

  • Lifetime savings: ~£46,000
  • Average savings: ~£1,850 per year
  • ROI / Payback period: 8–9 years

Client benefits:

  • Solar, storage and EV charging in one system
  • Additional fuel savings from charging on solar
  • Significant contribution towards Net Zero
  • Single-app control of the whole setup

Methodology & assumptions. All figures are modelled estimates, not metered results, and are rounded for presentation.
  • Generation: system size (kWp) × regional specific yield (800 kWh/kWp Highlands, 920–950 kWh/kWp England).
  • Savings: self-consumed units at the 24.67p/kWh Ofgem residential rate; exported units at 7p/kWh (conservative SEG).
  • Lifetime savings: annual saving × 25 years (no tariff escalation applied).
  • ROI: system cost ÷ annual saving. Carbon: ~0.21 kg CO₂/kWh grid displacement; trees are illustrative only.
Actual savings depend on each household’s consumption, generation and tariff at the time of install. Solar4Good is MCS-certified.
