CLIENT
A family home in Woking wanting a tidy, premium battery solution with the simplicity and brand assurance of Tesla.
The Project
The brief was high storage with a single, integrated unit. The Tesla Powerwall 3 combines hybrid inverter and battery in one enclosure, so a large 22-panel array could be paired with whole-home backup capability without a wall full of separate components.
The technical scope included:
- 22 × DMEGC 450W solar panels (9.9 kWp total capacity)
- 1 × Tesla Powerwall 3 with Tesla Gateway (13.5 kWh usable)
- Tesla app for monitoring and backup control
- Bird mesh fitted to all pitched-roof panels
The Solution
Solar4Good delivered a clean, minimal Tesla installation from survey through to commissioning.
Key aspects included:
- All-in-One Unit – Powerwall 3 combines hybrid inverter and battery in a single enclosure.
- Whole-Home Backup – Tesla Gateway provides power-cut protection for the property.
- Large Array, Tidy Install – 22 DMEGC panels with minimal kit on the wall.
- Safety & Compliance – Installed fully in line with UK building and electrical standards.

- Generation: system size (kWp) × regional specific yield (800 kWh/kWp Highlands, 920–950 kWh/kWp England).
- Savings: self-consumed units at the 24.67p/kWh Ofgem residential rate; exported units at 7p/kWh (conservative SEG).
- Lifetime savings: annual saving × 25 years (no tariff escalation applied).
- ROI: system cost ÷ annual saving. Carbon: ~0.21 kg CO₂/kWh grid displacement; trees are illustrative only.
