Limes Care Home in Birmingham (B38 8JZ), was interested in dealing with increasing utility bills and also minimising its environmental footprint. Being a care home, energy is constantly needed throughout the year for rooms, special equipment and more. The management was interested in a sustainable solution that would provide financial and environmental advantages, while reducing grid dependency.
The Project
Solar4Good developed and implemented a 79.65 kWp solar PV system that fits into the pitched roof structure and a multi-orientation design of the building. The system was to maximise energy output and offer long-term efficiency of operation
The technical scope included:
177 × DMEG 450W solar panels (79.65 kWp total capacity)
1 × Fox V50 – V Series 50kW 3-Phase Inverter
Pitched roof: 27° orientation (East, South & West)

The Solution

Multi-Orientation Design: The panels are erected on east, south, and west facing roofs in order to capture maximum sunlight all through the day.
